Opportunities

We are currently looking for a number of volunteers and intern to take on roles in a number of areas, including:

  • Peace of Art Team Lead – Peace Art is one the main vehicle that we will use to engage the public. We seek to encourage and engage artists to use their talents to create pieces that talk about the issues, challenges and stories of peacebuilding. This person will work closely with the Education & Awareness Team Lead, the Community Engagement Leader and Web & Technology Team to find ways to use the art produced to get the messages out.
  • Fundraising – We are ideally looking for someone with experience in grant-writing for public sector grants as well as experience in private sector fundraising. You must have excellent writing skills and possess an understanding of what potential donors will be looking for.
  • Legal Advisor – We are seeking someone to help us with a variety of tasks in the early set-up of an organization. This includes establishing the legal articles for the organization, advising us on the work that is and is not permitted under relevant provincial, federal and international legislation.
  • Community Engagement Leader – We are seeking a strong leader to head our Community Engagement team. You will develop goals and objectives for Community Engagement teams and will help by providing ideas and support to community teams looking to hold a Peaecbuilding event.

Internships
In addition, we are also seeking part-time unpaid interns to work for 3-6 month in the following areas:

  • Educational Briefs Leader – Education about existing issues and solutions is a key priority of PeaceGeeks. We want to provide organizations with a one-stop-shop to learn about a variety of tools and solutions that will help them to better do their work. The Educational Briefs Leader will be responsible for working with relevant members of the team to plan and develop a series of educational briefs on relevant countries, organizations, issues, technology solutions, training solutions, and public policies. They will specifically need to work closely with the Web & Technology team to develop a strategy for managing this information effectively.
  • Research & Development – This person will be responsible for conducting internet searches, literature reviews and interviews towards identifying and describing some of the more pressing challenges facing civil society organizations and highlighting new tools or innovative uses of existing solutions that have helped other civil society organizations.
