Our volunteers and partner organizations are expected to do their consistent with PeaceGeeks’ four core values. These are:
1) Be respectful. PeaceGeeks is about connecting people and building capacities, both for our volunteers and our organizations. When will work together on important issues and projects, respect, empathy and understanding must underlie everything we do to help to increase the likelihood of project success.
2) Be professional. All volunteers and organizations that participate with PeaceGeeks should be professional at all times. This includes being proud of our work, but also in displaying humility when we work on projects.
3) Understand the importance of context specific solutions. Recognize that solutions that work in one place may not be suitable in another, and that solutions must take into account many factors, including language, culture, education, accessibility and more.
4) Learn constantly. Continuous learning, whether it be from our successes or mistakes, peers or partner organizations, or research we conduct in the course of our volunteerships, is a cornerstone of peacegeeks and will help us to do our work better.
