PeaceGeeks is a new non-profit volunteer organization that aims to help under-resourced civil society organizations in developing and post-conflict countries to do their work better by providing them with access to relevant technology and skills training opportunities.
We focus on developing partnerships with organizations to provide meaningful support aimed at closing the skills and technology gap. We currently have a network of over 60 (and growing) members, including both skilled professionals and students, with backgrounds in computer science, administration, counseling, law and education who want to provide meaningful support to under-resourced CSOs in developing countries, particularly those focused on promoting accountability, economic development and human rights.
We want to learn about the kind of work these organizations are doing, how they are doing it and whether there are opportunities for us to help bridge the skills and technology gap so that they can better do their work. Where opportunities are identified, we will match skilled volunteers to develop and implement solutions. Projects can include technology solutions, training programs, educational modules and more.
